Winterberry Park includes a picnic pavilion and a river access point on the Jackson River. The pavilion is available to be rented out seasonally from 9am-2pm or 2:30pm-Sunset for $20 or for $35 full day.  There is a lot of open green space and some flat land on the lower part of the park, right next to the river. The park is across from the entrance to the Alleghany Highlands YMCA.
